ALL ALONG

LAWS OF THE BOYS BRIGADE
Ø The appointments of company Captain in conjunction with members of the Boys Brigade and all nomination of lieutenants and officers is to be done by the local church or sponsoring body.
Ø The property and finance of the company must be kept with the local church or sponsoring body.
Ø A record of attendance should be kept and retained for future references.
Ø The enrollment of members of the Boys Brigade must fall under the age range of 5-60 years of age.
Ø The chaplain of the company must be a minister of the local church.
Ø Members must at all times set an example of good conduct to their comrades and other boys.
Ø The penalty of breaking a company rule shall put a mark against a boy and that will affect his promotion.
Ø A member must not miss two drill/meeting without cogent reasons.
Ø At bible classes there must be quietness, attention and perfect reverence during prayer.
Ø During drill, no talking in the ranks is allowed except when standing at ease.
Ø Members must appear on parade looking smart and clean.
Ø Members must give prompt and cheerful obedience to all orders of their commanding officer, be he warrant or non-commissioned.
Ø The word “sir” must be used when address an officer, lieutenant or captain.
Ø Members must off cap/beret when eating or entering places of worship.
Ø patrons/patroness and chaplain must be aware of the company plans/intention.
Ø Company must endeavor to enroll every year and identify with the church.
Ø Members must be God-fearing and set good example to their comrades and other boys.
Ø Company members must pay annual or monthly subscription as agreed by the company/ council.
Ø Smoking or drinking of alcohol should not be done on any B.B meeting / gathering.
Ø Members must care for company materials or instruments entrusted to them.

PILLARS OF THE BOYS BRIGADE
The Boys Brigade has two pillars and they are DISCIPLINE And RELIGION. Boys Brigade is able to outstand it members as disciplined, God – fearing and reliable citizens of the world because it stands with these two pillars. We need to be discipline, this differeciates us from others, it builds our mind and characters in good manners. It shows that we are soldiers of God. Religion here is our believe as supreme beings. We need to be seen as true Disciples of Christ.

MEANING OF THE BOYS BRIGADE
The Boys Brigade is a voluntary Christian youth organization that trains boys to become discipline, God-fearing and reliable citizens of the world. A voluntary is a service rendered out without seeking or awaiting compellation, here members of the Boys Brigade gives services to the church, society at large without seeking compellation. They are Christian youths that are organized in a way that discipline is assured, Christianity is guaranteed and of course, they are recognized worldwide as reliable citizens. They are headed by the Holy Spirit and trained by qualified personalities to be the best of youths.

AIM OF THE BOYS BRIGADE
The aim of the Boys Brigade is led boys into the services of Jesus Christ and his Church. The founder of the Boys Brigade was able to find out that young boys are drawn from the way of the LORD, so he aimed at drawing them to the services of Jesus Christ as well as the Church of the LORD.

MOTTO OF THE BOYS BRIGADE
The motto of the Boys Brigade is SURE and STEADFAST which is taken from the book of Hebrew 6:19 and it reads: which hope do we have as an anchor of our Soul, both sure and steadfast. Here we are made to understand that the Christian faith of the Boys Brigade should be sure and steadfast. We should be sure of Christ, sure of our fellowship with the LORD and sure of everything we do. Steadfast is applied in the disciplinary aspect of the Boys Brigade we should be firm and unchanging in our different ways of lives, different from the lives of worldly and ungodly men.

OBJECT OF THE BOYS BRIGADE
The object of the Boys Brigade is the advancement of Christ kingdom among boys and the promotion of habits of obedience, reference, discipline, self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness. The object of the Boys Brigade is to advance Christ kingdom for young boys in order that the habits of obedience to the words of God and elderly ones, reference, discipline, self-respect for ourselves that will guide us from evil deeds, and all that tends toward a true Christian manliness be promoted.

PROMISE OF THE BOYS BRIGADE
I promise to carry out my duties in accordance with the constitution and the regulation of the Boys Brigade and to undertake every training at the early opportunities. As a member of the Boys Brigade there are duties expected of you, remember that you are in a voluntary Christian youth organization. These duties, you must offer as directed by rules and regulation of the Boys Brigade. You are also expected to be alert in taking your disciplinary trainings.

RULES OF THE BOYS BRIGADE
Ø Attend all meetings regularly including church services and Sunday school. Attend a camp once in a year
Ø Pay your weekly dues and contribute towards the world conference.
Ø Support your captains and officers loyally and help in making your company the best
Ø Be proud of your uniform and wear it neatly to all boys’ brigade meetings and necessary occasions.
Ø Do an act of good turn to others everyday.
